To the world, Thailand's face is that of its beloved Monarch, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Admired for his efforts to advance the well-being of the Thai people, particularly those in rural areas, he has provided inspiration far beyond Thailand's borders. The more than 3,000 projects he has initiated have caught the attention of foreign governments and global development experts seeking innovative solutions to poverty, uneven distribution of income and related social problems. Those contributions have been recognised in a multitude of honours-including more than 30 international awards and 20 plus honorary degrees-bestowed upon him for his work. Time Magazine has also featured him on its covers.
More recently, the US-ASEAN Business Council, Inc. in a resolution from the Executive Committee recognized His Majesty's constant work to improve the education, health and welfare of the workers and people of Thailand as well as promote and nurture ties to governments throughout the world. In addition, the United Nations has honoured His Majesty with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Human Development Lifetime Achievement Award 2006 "for his dedication to develop and industriously uplift the living condition of Thai people all through his 60-year reign". The award was presented by Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations during his visit to Thailand on 26 May 2006.
An extraordinarily gifted man in widely varying artistic and cultural fields, his mission to improve the lives of all his people has taken him to all corners of the land. For up to eight months each year, His Majesty used to travel to remote areas to discuss face-to-face with his people their needs and, together with them, devise strategies to resolve their problems and difficulties, often utilizing his personal funds to finance the projects.
His subjects' loyalty is founded not just on respect for the institution of the monarchy but on him personally and the many works he has undertaken on their behalf. In brief, he embodies all that is best in Thai culture and traditions, a symbol of continuity from Siam's storied past, and of its future.
The year 2006 marks the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne, making him the present world's longest-reigning Monarch. World Monarchs and Royalties will travel to Bangkok to join with Thais in a grand celebration to pay tribute to His Majesty's achievements and dedication.
The words and images on these pages represent more than a mere celebration of a milestone. They are an examination of the factors and events which have shaped him, as well as an exploration of his many deeds throughout a unique reign.

Long live the King of Thailand
Long live the King of Siam
Worth listening song composed by a foreigner who tributes to the our beloved King:
ML Pariyada Diskul, Chairperson of Morality Promotion
(of Thailand ) brought together around 20 of teen-agers
from the Youth Competency Development network
to share their homage and loyalty through the chorus singing. Mrs. Kelly Newton, a world renown’s Australian song composer and a singer was singing as a vocal leader her own composed text and lyric "Long live the king of Thailand"
Mrs. Newton expressed that although she is only a foreigner,
and well realized of HM the King’s work;
she couldn’t help feeling surprise
how would a person do that much for the nation.
“He is the husband, the best father
while being an extraordinarily gifted man in wildly varying fields,
includes song composing, music as much as agriculture.
He is a fascinating music and song composer
while being the best musician himself”
Mrs. Newton added that she loves all HM’s songs.
Her key inspiration behinds this song text and lyric derived from her trip on board a Thai airway’s flight and watched an in-flight program on HM the King’s work. At the beginning, she did not realize that this is the king but keep surprising who is he? And why a person could possibly do a tremendous work? I asked a friend when I landed and learned that “he” is the King. HM is only my inspiration to create this song.
Mrs. Newton expressed that she could feel all love and mercy the great king bearing onto his belonging people. He is the best typical beloved King for the world’s kings and world leaders.
Mrs. Newton told that her husband and her self is Australian farmer and had never used chemical in the farm for almost 20 years. The more she learns that HM the King concerns on free chemical farming by using bio-mass, the more she feels impress that our King is the most unique king of the world. She asked Thai people here how much they feel to their King. There is only one same answer that
“We love our King”.
She told that this comes to her surprise.
She has never experienced how much love and homage the people could ever given to the King.
She came here when was told from her friend of HM illness in order to pay a tribute and wish him well from illness.
Mrs. Newton sang a song composed since 27 April 2007 by herself, she use 15 minutes to bring up and sing the song.
